CLIVE CONWAY PRESENTS AN AUDIENCE WITH...
Clive Conway Productions is the force behind the highly successful 'An Audience with...'
theatre series which brings household names in showbusiness, current affairs, sport and politics to hundreds of venues around the country every year.
The format of the show is simple. During the first part of the evening the speakers look back over their life and times - sometimes solo, sometimes in conversation with an interviewer - and later they take questions from the audience; often a book signing follows. This intimate and interactive aspect of the show provides a memorable experience for any audience.
Audiences are always interested in meeting their favourite personalities and hearing what they have to say: our attendees are frequently thrilled with our shows and many of our audiences return to them time and time again.
Impresario? CEO? Relationship Builder? Flautist?
Clive Conway is all these things and more. The theatrical impresario behind the phenomenon that is An Audience With…, his guests range from leaders of political parties and journalists to scientists and actors.
Born in Whitechapel in 1953, Clive went on to study at the Royal Academy of Music alongside Sir Simon Rattle and Annie Lennox. After graduation, Clive toured for several years as a flute recitalist and chamber musician and made commercial recordings for Saga and Meridian Records.
Having built up a network of friends and colleagues in the theatrical and musical worlds, Clive felt that he had a unique opportunity to make the move from musician to producer and went on to produce several anthology performances that toured the country extensively in the 1990s. The very first An Audience with..., in 2001, featured Tony Benn.
Since then Clive Conway Celebrity Productions has grown from strength-to-strength, with on average more than 100 theatres across the country managing 300 productions per year.
Having spent forty years living and working in Oxford, Clive is now based in London. As a co-founder and consultant at
Oxford Flute Summer School, music remains a major part of his life, while his personal beliefs are represented in his involvement in the Tutu Foundation UK as Vice Patron and his ongoing organisation of events featuring Archbishop Desmond Tutu and World Iconic colleagues working for Peace and Reconciliation and the creation of an enlightened Next Generation of Leaders.
