Actor Robert Powell backs technology lifeline for children's hospices

Our good friend the esteemed stage and screen actor Robert Powell’s new position as  patron of the charity Lifelites couild not have come at a more important time.
For Lifelites supports life-limited and disabled children in Britain’s hospices by donating life-changing technology to help them play and communicate.
And right now - during the isolation and social disconnections of the Covid-19 pandemic - access to assistive technology offers a vital lifeline for vulnerable youngsters.
Robert, perhaps best known for towering performances as Mahler and Jesus, says: “I appreciate being asked to be a patron of Lifelites. I am lucky to have two grandchildren, boys of four years and a new-born. Just as we play and communicate in every possible way, so I would like to help life-limited and disabled children have the same opportunity, especially in this time of crisis when many are very limited as to what they can do.”
The charity which  also provides free technical support and training to hospice staff says it is honoured to have an actor of Robert’s stature on board and believe his presence as a patron will help raise Lifelite’s profile.
Meanwhile Robert is a regular host and speaker with Clive Conway Productions and is currently scheduled  to narrate  Anything Goes! - An affectionate tribute the Roaring Twenties.
With fellow actor Liza Goddard and musical accompaniment from Christine Croshaw on piano and Clive Conway on flute, the show celebrates the age of the Flapper girl, lavish cocktail parties and nights of carefree jazz. It was a time when the young threw off the conventions of the previous generation. Freedom was in the air, and the winds of change were blowing.  Watch out for Anything Goes! at An affectionate tribute to the Roaring Twenties currently due to appear at  The Assembly Rooms in Tamworth on 4th October, The Kings Theatre in Southsea on 11th October and the Festival Drayton Centre in Market Drayton on 1st November.
