Lucy Worsley

No surprise perhaps but American TV viewers have fallen head over heels in love with our very own Lucy Worsley.
Her peaches and cream looks and ability to deliver extremely well informed but also highly entertaining facts about our Royal History is proving a compelling combination.
It seems that viewers of American public TV simply cannot get enough of Lucy’s tales of princesses, palaces and wonderful jewels. Oh yes, there’s also the plotting, back-stabbing and political manoeuvring.
And even better Lucy often illustrate’s the stories she tells by diving into the dressing up box and wearing appropriate historic costumes. The American absolutely love that.
They also love the fact that the woman they call ‘Britain’s cheekiest and most entertaining royal historian’ is a serious academic with a doctorate, a first class history degree from Oxford and day job as the chief curator of Historic Royal Palaces. Her brief includes responsibility for Hampton Court, the Tower of London and Kensington Palace.
Of course we have enjoyed her expertise for a number of years and happily Clive Conway Productions has a raft of forthcoming talks that are still, Covid permitting, scheduled or rescheduled over the coming weeks and months.
Her talks are A Very British Murder which offers an illustrated tour through the dark story of our fascination with homicide. Sharing the secrets of this national obsession
And, If Walls Could Talk which, after the four part BBC series and best-selling book, Lucy takes audiences on a trip through the home to discover the hygiene and homely habits of the British over the past 800 years.
