We are so sorry to hear that 91-year-old  actress Dame Patricia Routledge - a frequent and popular speaker with Clive Conway Productions circuit - is recovering after a fall.
Dame Patricia, best known to millions as super-snob Hyacinth Bucket, “It’s pronounced Bouquet”, in the hit BBC sitcom Keeping Up Appearances. But little known to many of her fans, long before telly fame she was considered a great singer and  enjoyed a glittering career on the stages of both the West End and Broadway where she was a much celebrated star of musical theatre.
There was also serious theatre and the classics  and of course her critically acclaimed 1980s appearance in Alan Bennett’s TV plays Talking Heads.
In recent years her popular touring show Facing the Music has found looking back on her career with critic and musical theatre expert Edward Seckerson.
She was due to appear in it at the Chichester Festival Theatre on 11th November but, following the fall, doctors have advised her to  take a period of rest. Last week the  local Chichester newspaper reported that Dame Patricia had said she is “deeply disappointed” at not to be able to appear in the show.
Everyone at Clive Conway Productions wishes her a speedy recovery. She and Edward Seckerson are due to appear with us in Facing the Music at The Assembly Rooms in Tamworth in March next year. More info at www.tamworthartsandevents.co.uk
