Chief Operating Officer – Interim (14-months)

 Reports to: Executive Director, Youth Endowment Fund

Salary:  £85,000 – £100,000 (depending of whether you oversee all or some elements of the present COO role) 

Contract: 14 months (Maternity cover)

Location:  Central London, Hybrid

We’re here to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice. 

The COO has a critical role in ensuring we succeed in this work. You have a key leadership role in overseeing the overall health of the Fund in partnership with the Executive Director. The role oversees our finances, people management and – for the right candidate – would oversee much of our grant making and project management.

Key responsibilities include:

• You’ll lead on key Organisational Governance processes and ensuring the Fund makes wise decisions.  
• You make sure that the Fund has the people, tools and resources in place to excel.
• Working with colleagues, you make sure that we make grants, manage grantees and oversee evaluations efficiently and highly effectively.

As a core member of the Directors Team, you will be part of making the most important decisions about the short-term and long-term strategy of the Fund. You will build and model the culture and values that we need to make a real difference. You will leave ego at home and look to make the rest of this team a great success.

• You are excellent at leading on finance in an organisation
• You are interested and experienced in both staff development and financial planning
• You get teams to use data well
• You are interested and thoughtful about grant making and evaluation
• You are a low ego and effective leader

Senior Evaluation Manager – Full time

Reports to: Head of Evaluation

Salary: £50,600

Contract: 2 years fixed term – potential to extend 

Location: Central London, Hybrid

Application closing: 5pm, Friday 31st of May 2024

We’re here to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice.

The Senior Evaluation Manager will play a key role in supporting the Head of Evaluation to lead elements of evaluation work. The post holder will also lead a team of Evaluation Managers, ensuring they have the support to deliver a portfolio of evaluation projects. 

Working with the Head of Evaluation, the post holder will: 

• Implement the processes for assessing the quality of evidence underpinning applications to the fund and making funding recommendations to the Grants and Evaluation Committee.
• Provide technical expertise on evaluation to the team and lead on the development of YEF’s thinking on one or more areas of evaluation.
• Lead the delivery of YEF’s evaluation work, designing, commissioning and managing complex and large-scale evaluations.
• Shape evaluation approach for individual grant rounds.
• Be responsible for the ongoing development of YEF’s commissioning guidance.

Change and Events Project Officer

Reports to: Head of Change

Salary: £32,300

Contract: Contract: 2 years fixed term – potential to extend

Location: Central London, Hybrid *

Interview dates: week commencing the 17th of June 2024

We’re here to prevent children from becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to change things.

Our Change team does this by building excellent relationships and sharing evidence of what works with organisations and key individuals across the public, private, third sectors and local communities.

You’ll make sure the team is incredibly organised and has the support it needs to work effectively. To do this you’ll:

• Organising events, from small roundtables to large in-person conferences. You will help make sure events run brilliantly, from booking venues to managing invites and organising materials.
• Help ensure projects within the Change teams are done brilliantly by keeping track of who needs to do what by when.
• Lead on coordinating effective communication outreach for key stakeholder groups.
