Jules Hudson: Thirty Years in Television, Now Live on Stage

Jules Hudson has been part of British television for three decades. As one of the longest-serving presenters on the BBC's Escape to the Country, a regular contributor to Countryfile, and a familiar face on Winter on the Farm and Springtime on the Farm, he's become part of the furniture for millions of viewers. Now, for the first time, he's taking the conversation live.

An Audience with Jules Hudson is a new evening show produced by Clive Conway Productions. It's Jules on stage, in conversation, covering thirty years of television, archaeology and military history, country living, craft and making, and Britain's landscape and heritage. If you've watched him on screen, you already know what to expect: warmth, good humour, and the kind of stories that don't make it into a 45-minute episode.

The timing is right

Jules's autobiography, Wild at Heart: My Journey to a Country Life, was published in 2026. It traces his path from urban Essex to the countryside, through Sandhurst, archaeology, and three decades of broadcasting. In a recent Hello Magazine feature, he talked about family life with his wife Tania and their son Jack, and reflected on the career moments and people that shaped his journey. A book tour and a live show are a natural pairing, and the appetite from his audience is clear.

Who comes to see Jules Hudson?

His audience is broad and loyal. Escape to the Country consistently ranks as the top-rated programme in its BBC One daytime slot, and his reach extends across the BBC's rural and lifestyle programming as well as Channel 5. The demographic skews towards an older, culturally engaged audience with strong spending power, and his following is genuinely national rather than concentrated in London. For venues, this is a show that travels well and sells to an audience that books early.
