Lucy Worsley

Our good friend the historian Lucy Worsley has a series of shows waiting in the wings for Clive Conway Productions next year.
First however she will be fronting a major BBC TV documentary marking the 80th anniversary of The Blitz.
The relentless enemy bombing raids were, particularly for British civilians, the most terrifying events of World War II. Night after night from September 1940 through to May 1941 the UK’s  cities, ports and centres of industry came under heavy attack. Some 50,000 people died.
The 90 minute documentary special will feature Lucy discovering the real-life stories of the ordinary people caught in the brutal bombardment.
The programme, which will use oral histories and material from unpublished private diaries to paint a picture of life under fire, has been put together by the same team that produced Lucy Worsley’s Bafta Award-winning Suffragettes
BBC Commissioning Editor, Simon Young  says: “There is nobody better equipped to tease apart the myths and truths of this piece of national folklore than Lucy and the team who made Suffragettes.”
