Tutu Foundation UK invites you to Westminster Abbey for a service of evening song for Archbishop Desmond Tutu on 9th June

The Tutu Foundation UK are proud and delighted to celebrate the life of the late Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu in the service of evensong in Westminster Abbey on 9th June at 5 PM. This is a public service for all who want to give thanks for this remarkable person.

Some 500 British and international guests from the diverse community of those who were, and are, inspired by Archbishop Tutu will gather to celebrate his work; the fight against apartheid, his teachings towards conflict resolution, and his legacy of peace and mediation. Prayers and Readings will be led by representatives of government and organisations that continue his important work. Lord Hain, long time friend and collaborator in the era of apartheid and beyond. Edith Slee, Founder of the Tutu Foundation UK. Brother Philip Nicols, from the Community of the Resurrection, that had such a formative role for Desmond as he grew up and throughout his life.

Cassandra Goad, prays for his family and their friends in the UK and our interconnections. On behalf of The Tutu Foundation UK Round Tables Mediation Project, run by Youth Futures, representatives Joseph Duncan, Mark Murray, and Chief Inspector Thomas Beavon of the Metropolitan Police. The sermon will be given by Desmond’s daughter the Reverend Nontombi Naomi Tutu.
