Celebrations for Desmond Tutu’s birthday will be underway at St George's Cathedral in October. The Desmond and Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation have collaborated with WOMAD South Africa to bring local and international artists together in celebration and honour of Archbishop Desmond Tutu. WOMAD SA Hubert Laws Concert - Thursday 3 October 2024

Details:

The collaboration between WOMAD SA, the Desmond and Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation, and Eastern Acoustics presents the concert as part of the 40th Anniversary of Desmond Tutu receiving the Nobel Peace Prize.

Desmond Tutu United 4 Humanity Concert - Friday 4 October 2024

Details:

This is an intimate concert at St. George's Cathedral to extend the celebration of the Arch's legacy and contribution to 30 Years of South Africa’s Democracy, Social Cohesion & Cultural Diversity to the world.

Featuring:

Ladysmith Black Mambazo, PJ Powers, Zolani Mahola, Arno Carstens, Hilton Schilder & Shaheema Lakay, Joep Pelt (Netherlands), Iskwew Singers (Canada), Francesca Biancoli (Italy), Livia & Fred (Brazil) Soweto Soul, Nhoza Sitsholwana & Andre Kriel, Christof van der Berg featuring Nhoza and Zine, DSK Senior Band & The St George's Cathedral Choir. The MC is Nik Rabinowitz.
