The boy from Bangor whose voice carried Walking in the Air into millions of homes has spent four decades at the heart of British musical life: seven million albums, West End leading roles, Songs of Praise and weekday mornings on Classic FM.
Now, in a magical and intimate new show, Aled shares the story behind it all. Using rare footage from the 1980s and a little technological wizardry, he duets live with his own boy soprano voice, a moment of pure nostalgia audiences will not forget. Around it he sings the songs of a lifetime: musical theatre favourites such as Sunrise, Sunset and Hushabye Mountain, folk songs from Wales, England, Ireland and Scotland, the anthems he has made his own, including You Raise Me Up and How Great Thou Art, and, yes, the song everyone is waiting for.
Between the songs come the stories he has never told before, about growing up in the public eye and what life looks like now.
